BSc (PT), BSc (Bio)


Robert is a graduate from the University of British Columbia, Faculty of Medicine, with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy, 1992. He is a previous graduate from Simon Fraser University, Faculty of Science, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, 1988.

Not simply a practitioner, Robert continues to be a student and educator in the field of Physiotherapy, with an emphasis on treatment for patients with sports-related needs. He has published scientific articles and is also a former Chairman of the BC Section of the Orthopaedic  Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.

Robert is a former Olympic Cyclist, having represented Canada in the 1984 games in Los Angeles, and was Canadian National Champion from 1980 to 1984. His competitive sports history also includes hockey, swimming, volleyball, basketball as well as track and field. This personal experience and professional expertise combine to give Robert the tools to be a remarkably effective and understanding Physiotherapist.

Away from the clinic, Robert has been married for 28 years and is the proud father of four children. He’s an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying hiking, rock climbing, mountaineering and backcountry skiing. He employed all of these interests as a former member of the Lions Bay Search and Rescue team. When he’s not being physically adventurous, Robert enjoys astronomy, playing chess and gardening.

Robert’s treatment philosophy : “Treat the patient as you would yourself. Give them the most current information available in peer-reviewed research articles so they can make informed choices. Provide both hands on treatment as well as home programs, practiced and reviewed in the clinic.”


BSc (Physio)


Ivy received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Perpetual Help System in The Philippines in 1997. She has furthered her education with studies in Orthopaedic Physiotherapy, Acupuncture and IMS (Intramuscular Stimulation).

After graduation, Ivy worked as a clinical supervisor in The Philippines. Later she moved to the Middle East where she worked for 10 years in Tertiary Hospitals, expanding her knowledge base on patient care and newly emerging treatments. Having gained that experience, Ivy immigrated to Canada in 2011 in search of further challenges and opportunities. She joined Fleetwood Sports and Rehab Physio Clinic in 2017.

Ivy has over 20 years of experience in working with clients from different cultures to help them achieve their physiotherapy goals. Today, she continues to educate herself in the latest methods and treatment choices available, and incorporates those in treating her patients. She speaks English and Tagalog fluently, as well as a little Arabic.

When not working, Ivy enjoys reading, movies and spending time with her husband and friends.

Ivy’s treatment philosophy: “Treat the patients like family. Listen to them and communicate with them. Then, guide them and support them with the latest proven therapies and techniques”.



Office Manager

Alma joined our clinic in 2012 as a part – time Medical Office Assistant and is now our Office Manager.

She was born and raised in the Philippines where she received her Computer Secretarial training. She worked in Manila before travelling to Hong Kong where she resided and worked for 7 years.  She immigrated to Canada in 2007 and decided to make Surrey her new home.

In 2011, Alma graduated as a Medical Office Assistant from Vancouver Career College, after which she joined our clinic.

Her experience and knowledge of the procedures and policies of the different insurers have made her an invaluable member of our team. She manages the accounts and will assist you with any questions or concerns in this area.

She speaks English and Tagalog fluently.

When not working, Alma enjoys hiking, biking, shopping and spending time with her family and friends.


Assistant Office Manager

Antonette joined our clinic in 2015 as a Medical Office Assistant and is now our Assistant Office Manager.

She is from the Philippines, and immigrated to Canada in 1996. She currently resides in Surrey with her husband, Jasper and their daughter, Abby.

With her Nursing Assistant and MOA training, she has been a wonderful addition to our team. Antonette is well-versed in the billing procedures of the different insurers and assists with the accounts.

She speaks English and Tagalog fluently.

In her free time, Antonette enjoys spending time with her family and particularly enjoys baking with Abby.
